We are very pleased to announce that Emily has heat and hot water again, as of Thursday night. She also has a space heater that one of her teachers was kind enough to give her.

Tomorrow we are going on a trip to the Champagne region of France, to Reims. Educate yourself:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reims

We don’t really get it…

But Emily is jumping around and being really happy. She keeps saying something about someone named Obama, and winning. We don’t know. She made us take a picture with this funny piece of paper a few weeks ago though…

What we do know is that we are FREEZING in her room, because her heating (and her hot water too) have been out since LAST FRIDAY NIGHT. BRRRRRRRRR.

She also told us that her Carte de Sejour came in, and that she has to go pick it up this afternoon. She tried to explain to us what that meant, so here goes… Its a piece of paper in a little plastic case that allows her to live and work in France. It also means that she can come and go as she pleases, so she wont have problems when she goes to Scotland over Christmas, or when she goes home next week for Meredith’s wedding.

We are going to snuggle back up under the covers though, its too cold for us around here!!

Where in the world are Chloe and BB?????

Hey folks, this is Chloe. I bet you are wondering where we have been hiding for the past two months, and that’s a really good question! A week after our last post, BB and I moved back to North Carolina with Emily. For the next month Emily went to an elementary school every day to work in the office. It was called La Fayette Elementary and its in Kipling, NC, which is sort of between Lillington and Fuquay-Varina. She took us to work with her on the last day, so if you click your way over to our photo page, she should be putting up the photos soon.

Then the exciting part happened-Emily packed up all her stuff and went to the airport!!!! We were so happy to get out of Sanford we could hardly contain ourselves! BB and I also really appreciated the fact that Emily kept us in her carry on bag instead of making us ride in the scary cargo hold on the planes. She left Raleigh on September 23, and after a layover in Detroit, arrived in Paris on the 24th! Then there was a fun adventure awaiting as we all made our way to Beauvais. We look the airport tram to the bus station, took a bus to a town called Creil, waited there for 2.5 hours, then got on a train to Beauvais, where Emily’s contact person picked us up and took us to our new home.

Since then, we have been doing lots of exploring around Beauvais, and we have also been back to Paris for some sightseeing and to a beautiful town on the English Channel that is called Le Treport. Again, there will be pictures on our photo site soon, so be patient.

This week, Emily is waiting to start her job, which is the whole reason we came here in the first place! She is going to be teaching English in 5 elementary schools and will probably start next week. Then, in true French fashion, she will have a week and a half of vacation! Oh la la, we could get used to this!

Woof woof, caio!

Hotlanta

BB here, with another friendly update. On Monday, Emily took us to Atlanta so that she could get her visa. We did a little sightseeing too!

Monday evening we went to the big mall, Lenox Square and shopped around some. We liked the Neiman Marcus the best :) Told you we were high maintenance! Chloë really wanted to go in every single boutique, but I took a stand and said no way! So we went in a few places then grabbed a bite to eat.

Oh I forgot! Emily brought her friend Gen with her, and later Monday night we all went out with one of Gen’s friends. Then it was back to the hotel where Emily discovered that her computer was crashing!! She got really sad, then decided just to read for a little bit while we curled up to sleep.

EARRRRRRRRLY Tuesday morning, Emily’s alarm went off and after she got ready we all went to breakfast (yummy yummy waffles!) and then Emily had her visa appointment. It was over in 5 minutes. After that she took us back to the hotel to pick up Gen and go to downtown Atlanta!! We drove, found a place to park, then went to the aquarium, where yes, Emily saw her beloved penguins. There were tons of fish there, we took a lot of pictures. After seeing all the fish we walked (more like hiked-Chloë and I have short legs!) to the Varsity for a delicious lunch. Then we walked back to Pemberton Place and went to the World of Coca-Cola museum. We saw all the sights and the bottling factory, then we went to the tasting room and tried some weird weird sodas from all around the world. Some of them were just downright nasty, and I will eat or drink just about anything.

After the museum it was time to head back to Charleston. Emily timed it just right to leave in the middle of rush hour! Luckily she was getting on the 20, not going up the 85 to the 285, so the traffic wasn’t that bad. Five short hours later, we were back in Charleston!

Emily impressed us by taking this picture while going 80 mph.

Today, Friday, Emily came bounding up the stairs after she checked the mail. Her visa came, ALREADY! Now its all official–she just needs to know where she will be teaching and where she will be living…

We will be back with more news soon- make sure to check out all of the pictures from Atlanta: http://community.webshots.com/user/chloeandbbdoeurope

look how cute we are!

We thought you might want a visual of us, because we are freaking cute!

That’s BB!

And that is Chloë!

Just to clear a few things up, we aren’t REALLY going to France with Emily. But our stuffed animal counterparts are! Here they are:

(Clearly) Chloë has the pink collar and BB has the blue one.

We are far too high maintenance for Emily to take care of us all by herself in a foreign country, but we are sending our miniature pals along so she doesn’t get too lonely. Plus, the stuffed guys don’t bark, and well, we do. A lot. We don’t like being ignored :)

Anyways, Emily is going to be busy next week going to Atlanta to get her visa, so that she can go to France legally. We hope she takes us with her, we hear that the new World of Coke is amazing, and there are penguins at the aquarium!! Emily loves penguins.

Woof woof, see you soon!

Hello world!

We are Chloë and BB-welcome to our exciting life! In September, our favorite person Emily is moving to France and we are coming along for the adventure! She’s going to be teaching English in an elementary school (oh boy, small ankles to bite!!) but she promised us that we are going to have plenty of time to explore France and the rest of Europe during the seven months we will be there. Armed with our short little legs and a camera, we are going to give you the low down on everything we get up to (and all the stuff we lick) on our European vacation. Stay tuned for updates!
